The title says it all! I am partial to stronger flavored EVOOs, and I lead tasting sessions among friends and community members. This Luretik Sicilian extra-virgin olive oil is the best I've tasted from any California producer. I love that it's from a local, small producer who knows their stuff. The harvest date is printed clearly on the label, as well as the olive varietals (two in this blend), which shows the care and attention to the product, and to the consumer, who might actually care to know more about the oil itself. This year I ordered a bottle as a gift for a family member, and by chance received a bottle of the olio nuovo, or fall 2024 harvest. We tasted it together, and it had the right amount of piquancy--it's not overpowering, but has a bold flavor that you want to taste on bread, fish, or pasta. I later bought a second bottle for myself, and it turned out to be from the 2023 fall harvest, but it still tastes great. Thanks to Luretik and Olive Hill Farm for storing the bottles well (keeping them out of sun and away from heat), to have kept the flavor intact.
